DER SUBJEKTIVE FAKTOR is an autobiographically tinged look back at the time of the student movement and the role of women within in it. Documentary material and a fictional plot are edited together to form an insightful snapshot of the situation of the time. A young student with a child is involved in political actions and comes to realize that the idea of liberation must also be applied to one’s everyday life. She unites with other women to battle the structures of society which also put women at a disadvantage even in left-wing contexts.
